Baccarat is traditionally a 2 player games some there are some variations of the game that allow several players. Baccarat is a card game with the objective of making a hand that totals 9. it is much like Blackjack in the sense that each player receives 2 cards, and may take one more card to improve their hand.

Banker who is a player and not a casino employee deals 2 cards to the other player and 2 for himself. If either the player of the banker get a hand of 8 or 9 on the deal then that is called a natural and that player wins without the other player ever getting to try to tie or win.

In Baccarat all the cards bellow 9 are face valued, but the 10, Jack, Queen, King and the Ace are 0. Unlike in blackjack in Baccarat you can not go over 9. if a player has a hand that adds up to a 2 digit number you have not busted you just have to drop the 1st digit, so if your hand is 13 you drop the 1 and you have a Baccarat hand of 3.

All the betting in baccarat is done by the spectators. They have 3 bets they can make. They can bet on the player or the dealer to win. These bets pay off at 1 to 1 but a bet for the player and the banker to tie pays off at 9 to 1 but this is a very bad bet to make because it is rare to get a tie.

Because the smart money is on the banker who holds the house edge if you bet on the banker and win the casino takes a 5% rake from your winnings.
