How To Play Blackjack

The object of blackjack is to play your cards as close to 21 without going over.  You can do this a multitude of ways and we will go over them now.  Face cards are worth 10, including the 10, aces are worth 1 and 11 and all other cards are worth their face value.
 
If the player and the house tie, then the game is called a push and no one wins, with the house returning your original wager.  An ace and a 10 on the first two cards dealt is what is called the Black Jack and is an automatic win, paying at 1 and a half to 1, unless there is a tie with the house.  As well, a player may stand, or not play at any time he or she wishes.
 
Playing Blackjack

To play blackjack, you need to beat the dealer without busting, you bust when your card total reaches over 23, therefore automatically losing.  The winner is the player who has the closest total to 21 without going over 21 and still having a higher total than the dealer.  You can reach 21 with any number of cards so long as you don’t go higher than 21.

Before playing, you must make a bet.  Then you are dealt two cards both face up.  The dealer is dealt one up and one down.  Then in turn, each player decides to stay or take more cards trying to get as close to 21 without busting.  When all players are done the dealer turns up the down card, and if the dealer is 16 or lower, the dealer must play, but at 17 or above the dealer must stay.

If you reach 21 on the first two cards you automatically win unless the dealer also has a Blackjack and then it is a push and you are returned your original wager.
